What you need to Consider before your Consultant calls

Below are some of the things that you need to consider when making your Will to give you peace of mind and making things easier for your family and loved ones, your friendly consultant will explain these to you as part of our duty of care.

Who will be your executors?
We recommend at least two people other than yourselves, usually your older children (Must be over 18) or brothers and sisters.

Who will be your childrens guardians?
If you have young children and something happens to you they will need looking after until they reach the age of 18, we recommend two Guardians usually members of your family who the children know and are familiar with.

Who will get what?
If you have specific amounts of money or jewellery or family heirlooms, it’s a good idea if you know in advance who is to get what.

How or where you would like to be buried or cremated?
Many people don’t like to think about this but if you have a specific wish your executors need to know.

Do you have a specific wish with regard to donating your body or organs to science?
It is helpful if your executors know.

Do you have a funeral plan?
We can offer you several choices at today’s prices, it costs between £2,500 and £3,500 for a funeral these days what do you think it will cost in 10 or 20 years? The difference could go to your loved ones if you plan it NOW and you can even spread the payments.

Where are you going to store your will?
Wills stored at home are not safe due to the risks of fire, flood, and burglary, If burned or stolen you might as well not have made a Will and of those left half of them cannot be found when needed. The probate court requires the original Will; we can store it for you for life at a very affordable one off cost. Ask your consultant about this service.

Will update service (Codicil)
For an annual cost of £10 per year we offer a Will update service, where a client is able make any necessary amendments to their Will/s This is a very popular service. Stored Mirror Wills (Two Wills,) cost £10 for both Wills to be updated, this works out at £5.00 per Will per year.

Should you have a serious accident or illness where the doctors have to keep you alive by artificial means, do you want your loved ones to go through this, or would you like to die with dignity?
Ask your consultant about a living Will.
